Who we are

This site is written by the editorial team at heatedwaterhoses.com. We are not a manufacturer, not a store and not a lab. The person responsible for the content is named in the imprint.

Why this site exists

Anyone looking for a heated hose mostly finds store pages, marketplace listings and forum threads, some of them more than ten years old. The questions that matter before plugging a heating appliance in next to a water line are rarely answered with a source: how many watts, which outlet, whether an extension cord is allowed, what a temperature rating means.

That is the gap this site fills:

  • watts and amps per hose length, taken from manufacturer manuals,
  • maker rules on cords, GFCI outlets, coiling and insulation, quoted with their source,
  • one clear pick per length instead of long lists,
  • corrections where widely repeated advice contradicts the manuals, for example on heat tape and extension cords.

How we work

  • Sources: We analyze manufacturer manuals, manufacturer product pages, listing data and public sources such as the EPA and the National Electrical Code. The most important sources are listed at the end of each page.
  • Comparison by documents: Picks rest on manufacturer documents and listing data, not on measurements of our own. The method is explained under how we compare.
  • Which products we list: Our selection covers only hoses sold on Amazon; it is not a market overview. How well a hose is documented differs: for some we read the maker's manual or product page, for others the Amazon listing is the only source. Those carry the badge “Seller data only” and are never a pick. The three levels are explained under how we compare.
  • No personal stories: You will not find them here. The boxes labeled “From the manuals” summarize what manuals and makers say.
  • Up to date: Every page shows when it was last reviewed. When models or facts change, we update the page.

What we are not

We do not replace an electrician or a plumber. A heated hose runs on 120 volts outdoors. Where safety, installation or codes are concerned, we stick to documented statements, name the sources and point you to the instruction sheet of your model and to qualified professionals.

How the site is funded

The site is free and carries no banner ads. It is funded through affiliate links to Amazon. If you buy through them, we receive a commission and you do not pay more. The site is financed by these commissions and selects products by the criteria described under how we compare. No manufacturer pays for a recommendation. The details are in the affiliate disclosure.

Brand and product names are trademarks of their respective owners. This site is not affiliated with or endorsed by the manufacturers named on it, or by Amazon beyond its participation in the Amazon Associates Program.
